Class Experience

My experience in this class overall has been pretty positive. To start off with what I struggled with, I had a difficult time completing some of the assigned activities on blackboard. This was in part due to my lack of understanding with excel and other types of computer applications. However I believe this class has taught me how to work with others very well, and be able to collaborate a bunch of different unique ideas into one final product. I enjoyed learning about using story map, as I believe that is a unique way to display information and get a point across at the same time.

Video Project Collab

I was in group number 1 for the video project. I believe that we were able to handle dividing up the work well between our group. Once we had set up a plan for what we wanted the video to be and look like, it was easy to complete from there. We each completed our separate tasks, then sent it to a person in our group who edited it out and completed the video.

Information Fluency

Information fluency is a a skill that builds off what you know in digital literacy. It involves being able to integrate technology with almost anything you do. Weather it be critical thinking, presentation skills or even communication skills. Information fluency is when you use technology to better enhance the aspects of your life. Instead of just telling somebody about a movie, you can use technology to show them a trailer and some reviews on it, this way you have improved your communication skills and your presentation skills at the same time. Information fluency is a new way of going about your life and the skills you have, because soon one day everything will evolve around technology, weather you are ready or not.

Creativity Fluency

The idea of creativity fluency is that one is able to represent its artistic and creative ideas through art forms such as painting, 3-D design, storytelling and many more. Some people who are very artistic or creative believe that this is the easiest way for them to express their feelings and emotion. This becomes the part of the viewer of the art, having to interpret a deeper meaning of the art and the message they were trying to get across. It is creativity fluency that makes art so fascinating, because of the messages, emotions, and stories behind it.

Media Fluency

Media fluency is the ability to be able to interpret messages within the media, along with the ability to communicate in multiple multimedia formats. Media fluency consists of two L's. The first L is listening. Listening in media fluency refers to the skill of looking at a wide range of content in media such as a website, and being able to pick out what information is important and which is not. The second L is leverage. Leverage has to do with communicating effectively with media. Finding the best way to gather the information and finding the most appropriate way of getting the message out.

Solution fluency

Solution fluency is a problem solving process that even if you have not heard the term, have probably used in your life. It is a 6 step process used to solve a problem, it can be broken down into the six D's. Define, discover, dream, design, deliver and debrief. Many people try to follow these steps when trying to achieve a goal or desire of theirs. Solution fluency is a great thing to think about, weather you are trying to solve a large problem, or a small everyday problem.
The idea of collaboration fluency is that people have more success when working in a team. People believe today that being able to work well with others is an essential trait for students to have by the time they leave school. This is because in the modern workforce it is essential that you are able to work with other people you don't know as a team to get things done. As someone who is an education major and hoping to become a teacher one day, I try to be a good group partner in hopes of improving those skills each time. There will many times in my career where teaming up with other teachers to make lesson plans, or working with kids to help them learn the material, it is an essential skill in my desired career. Collaboration fluency is vital for kids in all careers to learn if they want to have the most success going forward.
